Have you ever felt “stuck” in life? Like you are trying to get things done but just can’t get everything finished?
If I’ve described you, you’re going to love today’s article, because I want to show you 8 things you can before 8am.
These early-morning habits will help you think better, exercise better, have more energy, and even sleep better at night.
If you’re trying to figure out how to progress in life, these tips can definitely help you. (Hint: High performance people do most of these, daily. I sure do!)
The tips are designed to help you…
- Wake up energized…
- Get into flow state easily and quickly…
- Move your body…
- Eat the best food for your body…
- Prepare for success…
- Feel inspired…
- Make time for reflecting…
- Take action that will advance you in life..
Let’s get started with Habit #1 – sleeping well.
Habit #1: Sleep at least 7 hours a night
The average adult needs 7 hours of sleep a night. Teenagers and young people can need up to 12 hours a night to feel fully rested.
If you have trouble sleeping at night, my personal suggestion is to take NO naps during the day. By the time you do go to bed, you’ll be tired enough to actually go to sleep for the night.
This leads to my next morning habit.
Habit #2: Meditate
Right after you wake, you should meditate. I literally mean…wake up. Sit up. Meditate.
People are often surprised when I tell them that meditation is both calming and energizing…but it is.
Something special happens in your brain when you choose to get quiet and focused. If you add in a few minutes of gratitude, you’ll be blown away.
Giving gratitude “empties” your spiritual container for the day and provides room for you to receive any blessings coming your way. It helps you flow from task to task much easier.
There’s a reason people love meditating. This is why. 😉
Habit #3: Exercise
Even though doctors and researchers tell people how important exercise is, only 30% of American adults get regular workouts.
It’s a shame, because there’s so many illnesses that are directly related to a lack of exercise…and we all know it.
But we don’t do anything about it.
If you can add in exercise to the front end of your day (before 8am), you’ll be doing your body a world of good…not to mention that physical exercise is linked to stress relief and idea generation.
So if you are stressed or in need of great, new ideas on a regular basis, make time to move your body. It will help a lot!
Habit #4: Keep Up Your Protein For Energy And Strength!
The average adult needs around 30 grams of protein per day. Depending on how much sugar you’re (not) consuming, your brain might really need that protein for energy.
People doing the Ketogenic Diet will use that protein in their bodies much like sugar is normally used for energy and brain power.
If you’re not doing Keto, you still need protein so your muscles won’t waste away.
And if you’re trying to lose weight, protein is great if you want to stay full for hours. It’s very satisfying and low-calorie.
Additionally, it’s healthy to have some protein after you exercise so your muscles don’t get too sore and you have the nutrition you need to recover from your workout.
It doesn’t matter if your source is vegan or animal based.
Just make sure it’s from whole food.
Habit #5: Try A Cold Shower
Now, I’ll admit…the first time I saw this suggestion, I got overwhelmed.
After all, a shower is meant to be both cleansing and comforting. I couldn’t imagine that a cold shower would do anything pleasing.
But boy was I wrong!
Cold showers improve depression, boost your immune system, and jumpstart your metabolism. Once you get over the idea of cold water on your skin, you’ll be amazed at the results.
The final 3 morning habits are just for your mind and your future. They are…
Habit #6: Listen To/Read Inspiring content
It might be the Bible, a motivational book, or something meant to help you become more productive. Whatever it is, listen and let it inspire you before your day really begins.
Habit #7: Review Your Goals
Think about your purpose or whatever it is that you’ve got ahead of you that day. Put it all into perspective.
Being successful is no accident.
There’s a method to it, and your mind is the most important part of your success.
So make sure your brain is always ready for the day’s activities by reviewing them before you get started. That way, you’ll set yourself up to win!
Finally…
Habit #8: Do Something Towards Your Goals – Every Day
Research has proven the more decisions you make during the day, the less high-quality those decisions become.
You’re only human.
That’s why…your most powerful decisions are the ones you make when you first wake.
So put yourself first and do work on your goals before you do anything else for anyone else. If you don’t, your goals will NEVER get met.
It’s proven.
I did these every day when I felt stuck. And I still do them to this day.
They are the reason my whole life changed. I started doing these 8 morning hacks without fail. And the results have been amazing.
If you feel stuck in life, why don’t you try these habits and then drop me a line to let me know how it’s worked for you.
If you’ve ever tried changing your habits so you can change your life, how did it go for you? Did you give it at least 30 days?
